Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas or JNVs managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, provide quality education to talented children of ruaral areas and provides free education, boarding, lodging, uniform & stationary to the students.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Multhan , spread in 38 acres, is a co-ed, residential school affiliated to Central Board Of Secondary Education New Delhi (CBSE) & follows NCERT syllabus. It was established in 1990 and is located in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. It follows three language formula for education.
Facilities available
Education in the Vidyalaya is imparted through different teaching methods such as class-room method, peer group training, lecture method, audio-visual (through computers and projectors)instruments and site seeing followed by a through discussion on the concerned topic.
The school offers education from VI-XII with Humanities, Science & Computer science at 10+2 level for which it has well equipped Biology Lab, Chemistry Lab & Physics Lab to conduct practicals . The students make use of the computer Lab (with a broad band internet connection) to remain in touch with the latest technology and latest information.
The school's residential complex has two separate dormitories for boys and two separate dormitories for girls besides a mess, whose menu is decided by the members of the committee which includes students also.
Games & Co Curricular Activities
The school emphasizes on all round character and physical development of students. The school has a huge playground with a 400 meter track for runners, two basket ball courts and three volley ball courts besides two halls for indoor games. The school has won trophies at district and state level competitions in sports due to the vigorous efforts of its distinguished sports faculty. The students are encouraged to take part in drama competition, essay and poetry competition, drawing competition, handwriting competition, etc
Eligibility, Admission & Fees
A test, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), is conducted every year for admission. The test, which is specially designed for the children of backward areas, is conducted by CBSE. At the entry level, 80 students are admitted in class VI and the admittance to IX & XI depends on the number of vacant seats.
The children aged between 9-13 and studying in sixth class in any school of the district can take the entrance exam. A child can sit for the entrance exam only once.
No fees is charged from VI - VIII standard as the Indian Government provides for education, boarding, lodging, uniform & stationary to the students. However , a nominal fee of Rs. 200 (girl students are exempted) is charged from the students of IX- XII.
Around 75% of seats in the school are reserved for the children of rural areas.
