Kendriya Vidyalayas, popularly known as Central Schools, are Co-Educational schools affiliated to CBSE and run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi. They are basically meant for children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common education programme.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jamuna Colliery, established in 1987, is spread in 6 acres in Anuppur Dist of Madhya Pradesh. It is a co-ed, English medium school with around 850 students on its rolls.
Facilities
The school has spacious, fully furnished and adequately ventilated classrooms, fully equipped Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab and Biology lab for students to get practical training in Science subjects, two computer labs equipped with 26 latest computers with a 100mbps broad band internet connection so that students can keep themselves informed of the latest information & technology, a well stocked library with around 10,000 books to enrich their knowledge, a separate resource room for primary as well as secondary classes, an activity room with various amenities, a music room with different type of instruments so that the students can learn, play and enjoy music, an audio-visual room with projector and screen for audio-visual learning, a games room for indoor games, a mathematics lab for mathematics enthusiasts, a co-curricular activity hall and spacious staff room for faculty members. The school provides transport facility for students.
Academics & fees.
The school offers a common education program to the wards of Central Government
transferable employees and offers education from I-XII standard with science stream at secondary level. Periodic PTA meetings are held to monitor and discuss the progress of students.
A fee of Rs. 240 (for Class I - X & Class XI & XII, non-science) & Rs 300 (for Class XI & XII, Science) per month is charged towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. A computer fee of Rs 50 till class X & Rs 100 for XI-XII is charged besides Rs 200 (for IX & X), Rs 400 (for XI & XII, science stream) is charged as tuition fee per month.
Sports, Games & Co-Curricular Activities
The school provides ample opportunities and channels to students to display their creativity, to develop spirit of sportsmanship/ leadership qualities, to ensure mass participation in different activities and to develop the physical fitness.
The school has well developed sports facilities which include a Gymnasium, a large field for football and cricket, badminton and volleyball courts and conducts intercourse competitions for students at junior and senior level, periodically.
Different type of competitions and exhibitions, like Science Exhibition, Social Science Exhibition, Mathematics Olympiad, Rakhi Making Competion, Drawing competition, Hindi Kavita competition, are held every year for all round development of the future citizens of our Proud nation.
