Kendriya Vidyalaya Ordinance Factory Katni (M.P.) or Central School O.F. Katni, established in 1981, is a co-ed, English medium, day school managed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (K.V.S.) and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.). It is basically meant for the children of transferable employees of Central Government including Defense and Para-military forces.
Physical Infrastructure and facilities.
The school is spread in 15 acres and has a well developed playground with separate grounds for handball, Volley Ball and Kho Kho along with a games room for promotion of sports. It has 24 Class Rooms, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs with a separate Junior science lab, a separate Resource Room for Primary wing, a well stocked Library and two computer labs. The two computer labs have 35 computers with 100mbps Broad Band connection for introducing students to modern technology. It provides transportation to and fro from nearby areas.
Academics
The school is affiliated to CBSE and follows NCERT curriculam to provide common education program. It has around around 1000 students on its rolls from classes I to XII and offers Science and Commerce at +2 level.
Fees
A very nominal fee is charged from the students as all the expenses of Kendriya Vidyalayas are borne by the Central Government.
Co-Curricular Activities
A special emphasis is given on co-curricular activities for the all round development of students. The school organizes Hindi extempore competition, mimicry competition, mono acting competition, rangoli making competition, youth parliament, English poem recitation competition, display board competition, Kavita Path competition, group song competition, Mehandi competition, Hindi Debate competition, Hindi - Skit competition, Quiz Competition, Solo Dance Competition, English Debate Competition, Poster Making Competition, Flower Decoration competition, Speech Contest(English) and Sanskrit Shlok Paath competition for students on yearly basis to incalculate the feeling of competition and achievement between students.
