Sagar Public School, Bhopal or SPS Bhopal, is a co-educational, English medium,CBSE affiliated, senior secondary, day school imparting education to students from Nursery to XII standard and following the Montesseri system in pre-primary classes. SPS is located at Saket Nagar in the heart of the city in a well developed vast campus. It was established by Shri Agrawal Educational and Welfare Society in 2001 in Bhopal with an aim to impart quality education.
Academics
The school offers education facilities from Nursery to XII standard with an option of Science and Commerce streams at 10+2 level, following the Montesseri system of education at pre-primary level. It is affiliated to CBSE, preparing students for the prestigious All India Senior Secondary Exam, but offers a wide and varied reasoning based curriculum so as to prepare students for competitive exams at All India Level like IIT, AIEEE, AIPMT, AIIMS, and NDA. It lays a great emphasis on activity based teaching using audio-visual aids, models, charts, diagrams, specimens, etc. and assisted by its highly trained and dedicated faculty. The school lays equal importance on allround developement of students by encouraging the students to take part in other activities like sports and extra curricular activities. It conducts periodic Parents Teachers Meetings on monthly basis to monitor the progress and to discuss the problematic areas of students, besides providing Guidance and Counselling.
Facilities
The school offers excellent facilities for over all and all round developement of students with modern techniques and equipments. Its Mathematics Laboratory helps in developing mathematical ability of the students and provides a medium for developing problem solving analytical skills. Its well equipped and full-fledged Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories provide an opportunity to understand the scienctific concepts by practicals. The school has two computer labs equipped with latest machines and a broad band internet connection for interaction of students with the modern gadgets, their applications and access to latest information on the world wide web. The specially qualified music teachers, with a wide variety of musical instruments in the Music Room, guide and train the students. The school has badminton, basketball, tennis courts, football and hockey grounds, 200-metre track and a cricket pitch for physical training in different sports. The students of the school have brought laurels to the school by winning different competitions due to its excellent sports faculty. It has a special hobby center for training in Dance, Art, Craft, Judo & karate, Theatre, Public Speaking and Personality grooming etc.The audio-visual system in the Language laboratory helps students in developing their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. The well stocked Library and Reading room with latest books, magazines and periodicals on various topics provides an excellent oppoertunity to students to upgrade their knowledge.
Co Curricular Activities
