Bandhavgarh FortBandhavgarh Fort: Bandhavgarh Fort is a 2000 years old Fort located on the Bandhavgarh Hill right in the center of Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh Fort rests right in the middle of small hills separated from each other by means of sloping valleys. Though not much is clear about the history of Bandhavgarh Fort, yet many believe that Namdhavgarh Fort was built by the Gond Empire. It is also said that the fort got its name from a legendary tale associated with Lord Rama. As per this legendary tale, Lord Rama had asked his brother Lakshmana to keep an eye on Lanka from this very hillock where the fort stands. Hence the name Bandhav, which means Brother and Garh which means Fort. There are many statues and beautiful ponds all over Bandhavgarh Fort and is usually covered while Jungle Safari in Bandhavgarh National Park.

Bandhavgarh Hill: Bandhavgarh Hill where the Bandhavgarh Fort is located also form an additional tourist attraction among tourists. Bandhavgarh Hill is actually a group of small around 32 hills located amidst Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh hill resembles to that of a Hill Station. The picturesque valleys, the beautiful ponds and the location of the Bandhavgarh Fort on the hill have always managed to impress the tourists. Bandhavgarh Hill is covered with lush green vegetation and generally experiences a cool climate. One may get lucky enough to spot few species of fauna right in the middle of this dense vegetation.

Marble rocksBhedaghat: Bhedaghat is a small town located nearby Bandhavgarh National Park. Bhedaghat is famous for its Duandhar Falls, Marble Rocks and sacred Yogini Temple. The Yogini Temple at Bhedaghat is one of the famous 64 Yogini Temple. This temple was built in the 10th Century and is a finest example of ancient Architecture. The Marble Rocks at Bhedghat had inspired film makers for centuries and many film songs have been shot here in Bhedaghat. The Marble Rocks of Bhedaghat are known for its glittering splendor and offer a magical effect during moonlit nights.

Gwalior Fort: One of the unconquered forts in India, Gwalior Fort is a most sought tourist attractions near Bandhavgarh National Park. The Gwalior Fort has a deep history and great architecture to boast about. There are many structures inside the Gwalior Fort which can be visited by the tourists. Gwalior Fort forms prime destinations as tourists have direct trains and bus services from Gwalior to Bandhavgarh National Park. So make it a point to visit Gwalior Fort when in Bandhavgarh National Park.

Virateshwar TempleKen Gharial Sanctuary: Ken Gharial Sanctuary or Ken Crocodile Sanctuary is located on the Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh Road. The sanctuary is known for its collection and breeding programs for the Indian Breed, Gharial / Gavials. The Ken Gharial Sanctuary is one among very few in the world. The main attraction of this sanctuary is the rarest breed of this species of reptiles. One can check the various breeding programs and housing of these reptiles right here at Ken Gharial Sanctuary. Many tourists make it a point to visit this Ken Gharial Sanctuary since it is one of its kinds. Apart from the Gharials, few other species those are present at Ken Gharial Samctuary include the Chinkara, Wild Boar, Peacock and Nilgai.

Virateshwar Temple: The Virateshwar Temple is located nearby Bandhavgarh National Park. The Virateshwar Temple was built by Kalchuri King Maharaja Youraj Deva in the 950 AD. The temple is a fine example of Kalchuri Age Architecture. The Virateshwar Temple is around 70 feet high and one can find several statues of Saraswati, Ganesh, Nandi, Lion, Vishnu and other deities all around the temple. But the main beauty of this temple is the presence of Agni Devata Statue along with Nag couple, Pachlokpal and Batuk Bhairav.

Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary: Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary is another tourist places one can visit when in Bandhavgarh National Park. Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary is home to large variety of Flora and Fauna. But the major attractions of Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary are the Bird watching Activity and the Adventure Sport Options. Adventure sport activities carried out at Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary has successfully attracted many tourists all around the world. Few adventure sport options available at Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary include Trekking, Camping, River rafting, boating and Canoeing to name a few.
