M.Tech Admissions for 2011-2012 at NIT Raipur

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, an institute of national importance, invites application from eligible students for admission to the M.Tech programme, for the academic year 2011 – 2012.

The M.Tech courses offered by the institute are:

M.Tech in Water Resources Development & Irrigation Engineering

M.Tech in Computer Technology

M.Tech in Thermal Engineering

M.Tech in Applied Geology

M.Tech in Chemical Process Design

Eligibility Criteria for admission to M.Tech , NIT Raipur

The details of the qualifications required for admission to the above mentioned courses are as follows:

M.Tech in Water Resources Development & Irrigation Engineering :

B.E/B.Tech or an equivalent degree in Civil Engineering

M.Tech in Computer Technology:

B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or M.Sc. in Computer Science

M.Tech in Thermal Engineering:

B.E/B.Tech or an equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering

M.Tech in Applied Geology:

B.E/B.Tech or an equivalent degree in Mining Engineering OR B.Sc. with Geology as one of the main elective subject.

M.Tech in Chemical Process Design:

B.E/B.Tech or an equivalent degree in Chemical.

Other important eligibility criteria are:

A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate are required for admission to the above courses.

A valid GATE score with minimum cut off is required for availing the scholarship programme.

Non – GATE candidates can also apply but they would not be eligible for the scholarships. They would be provided vacant seats left after the candidates with GATE score are given admission.

All the applying students will have to produce the Character certificate from the Head of the institute last attended, at the time of admission.

Application Procedure for admission to M.Tech, NIT Raipur

The application forms filled in all respect should be sent at the following address:

The application forms should be accomplished along with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (applicable for all categories), drawn in favour of "Director NIT Raipur" payable at Raipur.

Note:The application form should be send in an A4 size envelope superscribed "M.Tech. Admission for Academic Year 2011-2012".

The last date of submission of filled in application form is on or before 20th June 2011.
