Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D Admission at NIT Raipur
The eligibility criteria are different, based on the field chosen by the student.
For Engineering/ Technology :
The candidates should possess an M.E / M.Tech degree with an aggregate of 60% or 6.5 CPI/CGPA.
For Architecture/ Designing and Planning:
The candidates should possess an M.Arch / masters' in Design/ Planning degree with an aggregate of 60% or 6.5 CPI/CGPA.
For other subjects:
The candidate should possess M.E/ M.C.A / Masters in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/ Statistics/ Art/ Social Sciences / Humanities (English medium)/M.B.A/ Masters in Management, with an aggregate of 60% or 6.5 CGPA.
or the candidate should possess an M. Phil degree with minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5) or equivalent
Note: A valid GATE score is required to be eligible for scholarship/ fellowship or assistantship or NET qualified in the relevant areas or UGC/CSIR/NBHM.
Note: No GATE scores or NET Scores or UGC/CSIR fellowship.is required for applying for part time Ph.D course.
Scholarships & Fellowships for Ph.D at NIT Raipur
The scholarships and fellowships would be available to eligible candidates and would be according the norms of Central Government or MHRD.

Filled in Application should be sent alongwith a crossed Demand Draft of Rs.200/-(General & OBC) or Rs.100/-(SC/ST), in favour of Director NIT Raipur payable at Raipur. The application form should be printed on A4 size paper and the envelope should be superscribed as "Ph.D. Admission for Academic Year 2011 - 2012".
