Names of months in Hindi


According to the Hindi calendar there are 12 months in a Hindi calendar/ Panchang. But mostly in Hindi the same English months are spoken but in a little different way. Below is the list of the months:
1. January – Janvari
2. February – Farvari
3. March – March
4. April – Aprail
5. May – Mayi
6. June – June
7. July – July
8. August – Agast
9. September – Sitambar
10. October – Actoobar
11. November – Navambar
12. December – Disambar

Days of Week in Hindi


The names of the days of the week also called Vaasara in Hindi have celestial bodies associated with them. Here is the list of the names of days in Hindi:
1. Monday – Somvar where 'Som' means 'Moon'.
2. Tuesday – Mangalvar where 'Mangal' means 'Mars'.
3. Wednesday – Budhawar where 'Budh' means 'Mercury'.
4. Thursday – Guruvar or Brahaspativar where 'Guru/Brahaspati' means 'Jupiter'.
5. Friday – Shukravar where 'Shukra' means 'Venus'.
6. Saturday – Shanivar where 'Shani' means 'Saturn'.
7. Sunday – Ravivar or Itavara where 'Ravi' means 'Sun'.

Very nice information, this is the first site which is promoting hindi language too. we have not to forget that hindi is our mother tongue. we should have to respect our mother tongue.thanks a lot to all editors who make this forum.
