SHIVPURI is located at 112 km from Gwalior, is a place of major tourist attractive places in the state of madhya pradesh. This place is healthy as well as it can provide your mind an eternal peace. This place is well known for forest as well as wildlife resources and splendid beauty.
Best time to visit Shivpuri: Shivpuri is open to almost all times to the tourists. But to recomend August - November is the ideal time. As temperature at summer and winter at this 492.42 m high Shivpuri rises and comes down to 40 and 4 degree respectively.
HOW TO REACH SHIVPURI : If you come by plane, land at Gwalior and then take a bus to Shivpuri. You can get flights to Gwalior from other important cities. In a similar way you can go back by flight from Gwalior. If you come by train, then also get off at Gwalior and take a bus to SHIVPURI. PLACES OF SEE IN and NEAR SHIVPURI :
SULTANGARH FALLS -there is a nice and a majestic waterfall in Shivpuri, by the name of Sultangarh Waterfalls, which poses a beautiful rush of tiredless, clear water swashing its green banks.
SAKHYASAGAR : by the side of the National Park, there is a vast water bodie with the name of Sakhyasagar, it is a wonder of Shivpuri, it is a living place of a variety of reptiles, for example, a variety of crocodile, python etc. If lucky you may be able to see a crocodile catch prey, beside this, there is, a boat club which arranges a boat ride for you in the 11km lake, just think of the experience, amidst the forest, there is a watchtower, and if you view sunset from here, i am sure it will be a colourful, magical and a charming experience for you, and also you can go for a picnic in VADEIYA KUND , whose streams are said to consist of medicinal values.
Besides these there are also historical interests of kings and the great revolutionary Tantia Tope.
Naturelovers will also enjoy the MADHAB NATIONAL PARK which is 156 square km and consists of large animal diversities, like varieties of deer, chinkara, chital ,sambar, nilgai, sloth beer and langur, it has a lake which is filled with colourful migratory birds. It will provide you a nice experience.
From here you can go to 127 km far historic temples, and 40km far KARERA Bird Sanctuary, which enriches with scenic beauties.
