The river on both the sides is surrounded by white Marble rocks glittering sunlight during the day time. The rocks are around 100 feet high and look very fascinating running along the river on both the sides. This beautiful place has served as an amazing shooting spot for a no. of bollywood movies.

Dhuandhar Waterfalls

When a river flows between the rocks, at some point or other it gets narrowed and plunges down as a waterfall. Similar is the case with river Narmada which falls down as a waterfall at such a high pressure that the water becomes smoky. This waterfall near Jabalpur is famous in the name Dhuandhar because of the smoky effect, also called Smoked Cascades. Dhuandhar in hindi refers to something which produces smoke and this waterfall totally justifies its name.

Chausat Yogini Temple

The Chausat Yogini Temple is situated on a hill top which is only approachable through a flight of stairs. This is temple dates back to the 10th century. Dedicated to Goddess Durga this temple has very beautiful carvings of several dieties from the period of Kuchari.

According to the legends this temple is secretly connected through an underground tunnel to the Queen Durgavati's Palace.

Bandhavgarh National Park
